Doofinder installation in Magento is done in a really easy way and very few steps:

1. Click on this link to access Doofinders plugin in Magento Connect:

Once here, we click on install now. To do this, you must have logged in to your account .

2. In your sites Magento administration, we are going to go to:

System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager

We paste the attachment given to us in Magento Connect where it says Paste extension key to install , and we click on Install .

You will see the installation progress in the bottom part of the screen. Once it is done, save the changes by clicking on Commit Changes .

Now we can find the extensions administration panel in:

System > Configuration > Doofinder Search

3. Configuring the extension:

1.- Product Data Feed: This part of the extension allows us to create a data feed , adding which any fields we want and even plan their generation through the Magento CRON . Once you have obtained the feed, you must process it in your Doofinder control panel.

1.1.- Feed Attributes: We can add, delete or modify the fields as we wish.

1.2.- Feed Settings: Allows you to configure options such as image size, exporting or not prices or grouping and ungrouping the configurable products.

1.3.- Schedule Settings: Here we can program the generation of the data feed through the Magento Cron, to finally process the file in Doofinder , and that way optimizing the process.

1.4.- Feed Status: The last generated feed URL’s.

2.- Search Configuration: We must configure the Doofinder search in the corresponding Default Config and store(s) view(s) :

2.1.- Default Config:

2.1.1.- Doofinder Layer : Allows us to enable and disable the layer in our website. We can define this option individually in every store view .

2.1.2.- Internal Search : Enabling this option, we are configuring Doofinder as the only search tool in our store, substituting Magent o’s native search. To do this, we must configure it like the following:

Enabled: “yes”.

API Key: We can find it in our control panel, clicking on our access email.

Total Limit: Maximum result that every API call sends back. We recommend not changing the default value.

2.2.- Store View:

2.2.1.- Doofinder Layer: Lets us enable and disable the layer in this Store View . We can also paste the corresponding script, which we have configured in Doofinder control panel ( Set up Doofinder Layer ).

2.2.2.- Internal Search:

Enabled: “yes”.

HashId: It is the unique identifier for each of our search engines. We can find it in our control panel, in the search engines list. WATCH OUT!, don’t confuse it with the API Key.

Total Limit: Maximum result that every API call sends back. We recommend not changing the default value.

This way, we will have the Doofinder extension for Magento installed and configured, having enabled the layer and internal search.
